Mr. Rankin is an active member and past president of the Kershaw County Bar Association, having served in that position for 3 years. Additionally, he served as the Public Defender for Kershaw County from 1998 until 2001; however, as his practice grew and changed, he found himself drawn more to personal injury and family court cases.
Mr. Rankin believes passionately in community service and volunteerism. He is an active, long-standing member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, along with his wife and two sons. He has volunteered on the boards of the United Way of Kershaw County, Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County, the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and the Camden Tree Foundation. Currently, he is a board member of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County and the Camden Bulldog Club. Mr. Rankin is a past Chairman of the Indian Waters Council – Boy Scouts of America in Columbia.
